What is NV?The NV diet pill manufactured by NXcare is a fairly new addition to the world of weight loss supplements. With its super sleek packaging, NV is marketed as "The first weight loss beauty pill" designed to promote healthy hair, skin and nails as well as helping you lose weight.
A bold claim by any standard. NXcare has chosen Carmen Electra of all people to be the spokesperson, who we can only assume is classed as clinically obese in tinsel town.
How does the NV diet pill work?
So is this just another over-hyped slimming pill? First of all lets take a look at some of the ingredients which may help weight loss:
Green Tea extract - In some studies green tea has shown to aid weight loss due to its diuretic effect (decreasing the amount of water held in the muscles), and has also shown to help stimulate metabolism. Weight lost using green tea is generally water weight and not fat loss.
Hoodia Gordonii - A clinically proven appetite suppressant when used in the right quantities and purity. Helps cut snacking in between meals and cuts cravings, helping you to lower calorie intake throughout the day almost effortlessly.
Theobromine - This is naturally found in cocoa and is believed to be responsible for the natural high when we eat chocolate.
Taurine - Required by the body to help the digestion process, it is also used in energy drinks to provide a short spike in energy levels. However to be effective this has to be combined with vitamin B6 which NV does not contain.
The other ingredients are collagen (extracted from dead animals) and silica which are both thought to help skin elasticity, and encourage hair, skin and nail growth.
Are NV's ingredients effective for weight loss?
The only ingredient which looks as if it could be effective in boosting weight loss is Hoodia Gordonii. In fact Hoodia Gordonii products out sell any other diet pill due to its excellent track record in both safety and long term weight reduction.
So is there enough of this proven ingredient to warrant the price? In a nutshell no. The actual quantities of all the ingredients combined are hidden behind a proprietary blend (267mg in total).
This term is widely used in the supplement industry and is claimed to be used to stop the competition knowing how the formula was made. However it is normally a clever ploy to "hide" the fact that only miniscule quantities of the ingredients have been used.
